As spring begins to bring warmth, we are back with a substantial update. Version 25.08 comes after a significant season of development and testing.

Due to the length of the article, we have listed the significant features below and provided details in expandable sections, subsequently. Each change is cross referenced by a feature ID in brackets. If there are questions please contact us with this ID and we will be able to clarify.
Some of the features may require configuration. If you see a feature you want to use, please get in touch with us on Support.
Significant Additions
Dental Clinical Note (Old and New EMR)
Dental Clinical note has been added to clinical notes based on the templates received from some of our hospitals .
This can be edited by users with CnoteDentalEdit permission
Orthodental charts can be created/edited only if permission DentalChartEdit exists. There are tools for marking dental conditions of tooth and annotations.
Dental history section has been added under patient history.
Dental clinical note will display the current visit's note (not the latest)
Improved Triaging of Sick Patients using NEWS Score (New EMR)
Introducing the NEWS score under Vitals. The NEWS (National Early Warning Score) is a system that helps doctors identify patients at risk of deterioration by calculating a score from six vital signs and an observation: respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, use of supplemental oxygen, temperature, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, and level of consciousness. Each parameter is given a score, and these are summed to provide a total score, where a higher score indicates a greater risk of serious outcome (5643)
Performance Improvements - EMR loads much quicker
The performance of the New EMR has been significantly improved. The improvement should be perceivable for IP patients, with a lot of prescriptions & services ordered (5918).
Watch the video demonstrating the improvement in load time achieved.
Hand-drawn Illustrations (New EMR)
Doctors can now add illustrations to their examination findings. The feature in the new EMR comes with with tools such as:
Pen for freedraw by selecting a color and pen size,
Eraser
Annotate for adding a text at mouse pointer location
Undo, Clear, Print (5700).
Satellite Clinic Support
Hospitals running clinics in nearby villages can now connect to the EasyCare system remotely, over VPN, and manage the clinic's workflow (5388)
Allows a user logging in to indicate whether he is working from the Hospital or Satellite Clinic
Tags this information to patients who are registered
Associates a satellite pharmacy to the satellite clinic so that medicine ordering, billing and dispensing will be from the satellite pharmacy
Allows the Central store of the main hospital to supply material to the satellite clinic, just like department transfers are done.
Asymmetric Dosages
Prescriptions for unsymmetrical doses is now supported for treatment of Diabetes where morning / evening dosages may vary (5238)
E.g., 12 -- 0 -- 8 I.U. Insulin for 30 days
Minimum Inventory Setting (1-0-1-1)
EasyCare's minimum inventory settings of 2-1-1-1 (Max-Min-Ord-DCQ) required a stocking point to hold at least 2 units of an item. Along with the central store, this will cause the hospital to hold 4 units. There are some items where the hospital wants to only hold 1 unit that will be in use and 1 can be kept as buffer stock. Allowing inventory settings to go down to 1-0-1-1 will accomplish this.
Discharge Summary Creation in EasyCare Core
Hospitals using EasyCare Core (no EMR) can also now create and generate Discharge Summaries. Doctors can create the IP discharge summary by clicking on PatientId link in Inpatients listing (5595). This can be edited later by users having ‘EditDischargeSummaryAfterDischarge’ permission. This can be done from a hyperlink in My Patients → Past visits (5785)
Discharge Summary Locking (New EMR)
Concurrent edits by two users on the same patient's discharge summary resulted in clearing of fields. To resolve this, we have introduced an auto-locking mechanism. The user who opens the discharge summary automatically acquires a lock. All other users are prevented from editing the discharge summary till the first user completes the edit and moves away from the Discharge Summary tab. Visibility of the user who has locked the Discharge summary is provided on screen (5509)
Admit baby on Mother's Bed
Well babies who don't need admission in NICU can be admitted on the mother's bed. This eliminates the need to create dummy 'cradle' beds alongside the mother's bed.
Option to enable Item Sales at MRP on Credit Profiles
A new field has been added in the Credit Profile to select the item types for billing at MRP. This will allow the hospital to charge full rates for patients who have insurance / 3rd party cover. Exclusions are allowed on item types such as Supplies, if the agreement with the third party does not cover these. This will allow exclusion items to be billed at the normal discounted rates, applicable to other patients (5730)
Feature Demonstrations
Demonstrations of key features in this release are available here.
Improvements in EasyCare Core
We have made a number of improvements to the core modules of EasyCare HMS. Expand each of the areas of improvement below for details.

Registration & Medical Records
Fuzzy logic search is available to customers who want to use this feature. The system is able to find matches to patient names even when the name isn't spelt exactly like it is on record. Improvements have been made to the fuzzy search logic for patient search to avoid duplication of record and to get accurate search results (5891)

Death Certificates can now be printed from the Death Records Report (902)
The print will show consultant name and treating dept (5590)
Referral from other hospitals can now be captured in the IP Admission Screen as well (5232)
Department and Consultant drop-downs are now Type-aheads in Registration. Earlier the Dept and Consultant lists were Popups. So users had to scroll up and down to find an item. Also, the sorting order of the items in the Popup list would change after every registration, making it harder to find the item. (5773)
Registration Staff can update the name of the baby once, on a subsequent visit of the child. The name fields are editable till the child is 4 years old. Once edited or if the child's age exceeds 4 years, the change can be made a user who has PatientProfileUpdate permission. (4272)

Payment of dues is now possible by NEFT and E-wallet (5391)
Medicine Billing: Added a warning if the sale quantity is more than the available quantity. So far, an error would be shown only when the Create receipt is clicked. When electronic payment is used, the user may have asked the patient to pay the amount on the screen, so if that changed in the end, then there was a problem. So, code changes have been made to throw an error message as soon as the quantity is increased beyond the available quantity. (5807)
Admitted patient's refunds also come in Refunds report now. Earlier, the refunds for IP was shown only after discharging the patient (5803)

Auto-analyser tests that have a measurement, and which need to be evaluated as "Reactive/Non-reactive" or "Negative/Positive", based on reference ranges, is now possible. The EMR is also updated to show these (5936)
Status transitions for released orders can be seen (5536)

Allow a search across credit profiles at the bill level, in order to be able to find the last invoice number without difficulty searching across credit profiles at bill level, the invoice numbers (for both UNPAID and SETTLED bills) sorted in a sequential order. Patients referred in the New EMR will be highlighted on the patient listing screen (highlighted, orange) of the referred consultant. They can be called in, out-of-turn, minimising their wait time.
Labour Emergencies are now visible to nurses in the Labour room. In many hospitals, labour Emergency patients are taken directly to the Labour room. Internal & External Referrals
Internal Referrals has been enhanced to also allow referrals from OPD to Emergency using Internal Referral option (5504)
Other Changes - Treating Department, Usability, Performance Improvements
Treating Department This change was built due to the realisation that patients needs to be tied to a treating dept. Earlier, for example, when the Orthopedic surgeon would see a patient registered under General Medicine, the patient would then move to Ortho department, which is not correct. Now we are tying down the patient to a department (5519). Emergency patient's treating dept will remain as CASUALTY/EMERGENCY.
Type ahead chooser/ autocomplete functionality in the EMR: For fields like Discharge Summary template Selection, Delivered by etc., the system renders a type-ahead chooser or a fixed-list list-of-values, dynamically based on the length of the list. (5684)
Change log: Show Last updated by and last modified date info for all sections in the EMR (5497)
Significant code cleanups and performance improvements have been made in EMR based on the analysis of performance logs (5776).

But on clicking Create receipt, all the numbers would get recomputed, and then the correct Fund amount would be used in the receipt. Since the new brand had a different price, the new fund amount was also different, and the patient was charged at the correct rate. But since the cash received was entered as per the old brand, there was some excess which appeared as Balance Returned.
Fixed: Department selection pop-up was coming even without department grouping (5563)

Fixed: Baby on Mother's Bed: Blocked the auto-billing of bed charges (5801)
Fixed: Material Receipt: Wrong system batch number was getting created in some scenarios. GRN could not be completed in such cases because of an error on the last step. Fixed: Discount Percentage was not working for Basic Schedules (5868): On Fee Management->Basic Schedules, there is a button Edit Basic Schedules that allows the user to set a discount percentage on COST for the other schedules. Some recent code change had disrupted this.

Fixed: RHS Investigation trends are now sorted by release date (5719)
Fixed: Resolved the issues found in Reorders.
Reordered item (from RHS prescriptions tab) was not simultaneously appear in the LHS prescriptions tab. We needed to tab out and tab in to see the item.
In hospitals with 2 or more pharmacies, when OP prescription items are reordered in a IP visit, if one of the reordered item/brand is not in stock in the default store, Reorder all screen showed all the items after that item as out of stock. And the last item in the list was shown as not stocked in pharmacy, it could not be deleted either. So user could not reorder any item from the list.
